Creative Amnesty is a collaborative collective that explores and showcases the intersections of the arts, technological innovation, and culture. We host events and design programs that engage people from diverse communities to foster greater employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation among those often underrepresented in Canada’s tech world.
Coding Class for Deaf Youth
We partnered with the Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf to produce a 1-day introductory coding class designed specifically for Deaf learners. The free workshop provided children and teens the valuable opportunity to explore the basics of electronics and learn the fundamentals of code. Our partners: Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf (CSSD), TakingITGlobal, Little Robot Friends, and VideoLinkwell.
Deaf Culture + Technology + Society
In collaboration with OCADU’s Inclusive Design Research Centre and Side Walk Labs, Deaf individuals and allies were invited to meet as a community and share their thoughts and ideas on how technology could be used to make our Canadian cities more inclusive of Deaf Culture. Our partners: Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf (CSSD), TakingITGlobal, VideoLinkwell, and OCAD University.
